Contract Award: SAIC to provide information assurance and cybersecurity services for US Navy's SPAWAR

As announced in a recent press releaseSAIC was awarded a prime contract by the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SSC) Atlantic to provide information assurance and cybersecurity services in support of its mission to provide U.S. tactical, strategic, and operations support. The contract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a total value of more than $210 million if all options are exercised. Work will be performed in Charleston, S.C., and Washington, D.C.

The Context

SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic (SSC Atlantic) is a Department of the US Navy organization, which reports directly to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR)

SSC Atlantic's Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance/Information Operations Department provides technical support services to the US Department of the Navy, military health systems, the Department of Homeland Security, and other U.S. Department of Defense, federal, and state agencies.

Under the awarded contract, SAIC will provide information assurance in support of military health information systems, software development, systems integration, afloat and shore computer network defense modernization, and information technology operations.

This support will include information assurance and cybersecurity programs, information systems modeling and simulation, wide area and local area network development, performance and integration and communications systems.
